In our debut year, the Lodi High School Alumni Association presents scholarships to senior students looking to further their education.
Since the conception of the group, the members of the LHSAA talked eagerly about getting the chance to give back to students who now walk the halls. We knew that the most accessible way to do so was to award at least one senior scholarship. Due to the success of our first Spring Softball Tournament and alumni donations through social media, we were able to set aside funds for two $150 senior scholarships.
On June 9, I went back to Lodi High to present the checks to the two deserving recipients. There I was joined by many other generous community figures and LHS grads who were as excited as I was to help aid someone's future.
This year's debut scholarships were awarded to seniors Jessica Bakreski (pictured with me on the left) and Ana Radojevic (not pictured). Jessica will be continuing her education at the Parisian Beauty Academy to study Cosmetology. Ana will be heading to SUNY University at Albany to major in Public Health with a speciality in Epidemiology.
In order to have qualified for the award, students needed to be a current LHS senior, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and submit a creative essay on how they would connect alumni with current LHS students if they were running the LHSAA.
Do you know an LHS student graduating this school year? Be sure to check back in April 2023 to find our scholarship application.
